Andy Iskoe joined Brian Blessing on ESPNRadio1100’s Sportsbook Radio to talk about betting for Super Bowl XLV.
Iskoe thinks total of 44 1/2 will go up by game time and said you might want look at the under. The handicapper says if ESPN pumps the 2009, Week 15 meeting between the teams that ended in a 37-36 win for Steelers, that may also affect the mindset of the casual bettor when it comes to the total. Blessing predicts the total will finish at 47.
Iskoe said the minus-2 1/2 line favoring Green Bay is interesting because only one Super Bowl in the history of the game has finished with less than a three-point margin. He recommended that if you like Pittsburgh, a money line play may be the way to go.
Also look for prop bets that offer good value playing into the strength of the Pittsburgh and Green Bay defenses. Iskoe says the public loves to bet overs and “yes” plays on offense/defense props.
