Super Bowl XLV prop bet results: LeBron’s 12-point game kills prop players

If you handicapped for a low scoring Super Bowl you were probably screwed with your proposition plays.

The Packers 31-25 win over the Steelers, helped the Super Bowl crush the NBA in Las Vegas Hilton prop plays by an 18-7 count.

LeBron James’ worst game of the season statistically didn’t help the case. King James’ number paled in comparison to the Super Bowl offensive totals.

James turned in 12 points, six rebounds and four assists in an easy win over the L.A. Clippers. James hadn’t scored less than 20 in a game since Dec. 31. He entered the game averaging 26 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Meanwhile, the Packers and Steelers combined 56 points and over 700 yards of total offense.

Adam Hill from the Las Vegas Review-Journal pointed out that a Kevin Garnett free throws made (-1) vs. Aaron Rodgers touchdown passes prop was interesting. KG made six total, with four coming in the final three minutes of the Celtics win over Orlando. Rodgers tossed three TD passes.

Jay Kornegay, the director of the L.V. Hilton sportsbook said the house did well with the prop plays, but not well enough to recover from the public play of Packers and over.

“I thought they were going to be a lot worse than they were because we had so many of the marquee players going over and a lot of guys scoring and some unusual things, like the 2-point conversion and the defensive score, happening,” Kornegay said. “We did a little better than I thought, but still not enough to overcome Packers and over.”
