Steel Panther, formerly known as Metal Skool, stirs up the stage at
Ovation inside Green Valley Ranch resort every Friday
LAS VEGAS – June 27, 2008 – The ’80s glam metal parody band Steel Panther, formerly known as Metal Skool, is now performing at Ovation inside Green Valley Ranch resort every Friday at 11:30 p.m. The band has already held amazing performances at Ovation, with celebrities including Scott Ian from Anthrax, LA Guns and UFC fighter Josh Burkman joining them on stage.
The band formed in Los Angeles in 2002 under the name Danger Kitty and has since become known widely around the West Coast for their wild and crazy antics. In 2003, the same band released the album Hole Patrol under the name Metal Skool. Now known as Steel Panther, the band has rocked the Los Angeles scene for years, building up a loyal fan base by playing favorites from artists such as Def Leppard, Alice in Chains and Bon Jovi. Among their fan base are celebrities from all over, including several who have joined them on stage, including Pink, Tommy Lee, Dave Navarro, Scott Weiland and Jessica Simpson, among numerous others.
Steel Panther has mastered the ’80s hair metal look and attitude by paying homage to the fictional band Spinal Tap from the film of the same name. Like most legendary rock stars, the members of Steel Panther do not hold back with the audience, exchanging humorous rock star banter between songs. Though the band has been through several name reincarnations, the original members remain the same: Michael Starr, Satchel, Lexxi Foxxx and Stix Zadina. Their spirit and love of everything rock ‘n’ roll is apparent throughout their shows with their colorful repartee, loud costumes and graphic body language.
Ovation is a 500-seat venue offering booths for up to six people with a $200 minimum bar tab. The show is open to adults 21 years and older and there is no cost for admission. Entry to the concerts will be first come, first serve and based upon venue capacity. To reserve a booth, please call 702.617.7777.
