An award winning sportscaster, Brian Blessing comes to Las Vegas after a 25- year stint in Buffalo, New York. Serving as a television and radio anchor, reporter, and host, Blessing covered Western New York’s professional teams, the NFL’s Buffalo Bills and the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres, along with the local sports scene, with passion and professionalism. Stationed at WIVB-TV for fourteen years, he was the beat reporter covering the Buffalo Bills, which included their remarkable, four consecutive trips to the Super Bowl. In addition, during his tenure at WIVB, Blessing earned various Associated Press honors and a New York Board of Broadcasters Sportscast of the Year Award.
A highlight of his career in Buffalo was co-hosting the highly rated and acclaimed Buffalo Sabres television post game show, ‘Hockey Hotline’, on the Empire Sports Network. The ‘Hockey Hotline’ show was recognized league wide as a unique, informative, entertaining, and at times controversial broadcast. With a no-holds barred style, Blessing and co-host Mike Robitaille earned the viewers respect for brutal honesty and an extremely loyal following, as the ratings proved.
Blessing also served as Public Relations Director and Director of Television at Fort Erie Race Track from 1995 until earlier this year. In 1997, thoroughbred racing’s highest honor, the Eclipse Award, was bestowed upon Blessing for his video documentary, ‘Fort Erie Race Track, The First 100 Years.’ As writer, producer, and narrator for the feature, Blessing earned the 1997 Eclipse Award for Local Television.
A 1979 graduate of King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. with a B.S. Degree in Communications, Blessing also served as Sports Director at WHP in Harrisburg, Pa. and WDAU in Scranton, Pa. He has extensive experience as a tv/radio broadcaster and also owns and operates his own Video Production company. Blessing joins the talented LVSC, with the goal of expanding their operation outstanding knowledge of sports, into radio and television programming, both locally and on a national scale.
